![]() ![]() I can't say enough about the quality of the riding. The horses were really well trained and responsive and you were able to ride the same horse every day if you wished. They were eager to give tips to improve your riding. They got to know us as riders and were thoughtful about matching our interests and abilities to the right horse, great trail choices and the skill level of the riding experience with plenty of opportunities to trot and lope if you had the ability. We have done several similar trips at a different ranch in southern California and the experience at Greenhorn was so much superior. Our main interest was to get high quality horseback riding and we were not disappointed. We recently spent a week at the ranch and it was such wonderful experience. ![]() I recommend Greenhorn Ranch for families, couples, groups, or anyone who wants to spend some time being active (or not) in the beauty of the Sierras.… The chef even made 'kids' food' for my grandchildren if they didn't want what was offered. There was always a variety of choices at each meal. They want guests to have a positive experience. They were always watching the riders, trying to make sure the ride was going well for everyone. The wranglers are knowledgeable and patient. No TV for a week.they didn't even miss it! Riding was wonderful! Horses are well-cared for and well-trained. They loved all the activities, especially riding, fishing, archery, panning for gold and, of course, s'mores at the campfire. I went with my son, his wife and family (3 grandchildren). I was struck by the peacefulness of the place.the mountains in the distance, the forests that trail rides passed through, the ranch's wonderfully landscaped and maintained grounds, all added to the positive ambience of the experience.
